About

Originally founded in 1990, Wharmby Kozdon Architects is a continuation of an established architectural practice. It was founded by Philip Wharmby and Michael Kozdon as a partnership with two architectural assistants. The practice has an extensive portfolio of over one hundred projects in the residential, commercial, health, retail, industrial and educational sectors.

One of their main achievements has been their work at London Zoo which spans a period of over 30 years. They have successfully completed over 37 separate projects at London Zoo which is far in excess of any other architects since London Zoo was first established 200 years ago in 1826. They also played a significant part in preventing the closure of London Zoo in 1993.

Wharmby Kozdon Architects have received two Civic Trust Awards and have been shortlisted for both an RIBA prize and the International Design Sense Award. Many of their projects have been featured in architectural and design publications as well as in the national press. Their work has been featured on the cover of the Architects Journal on three occasions.
